AI providers and budget
Use the platform's AI or your own key, and control spend.
Your own provider
Owners can connect their own key in Settings → AI for the whole organization, or in a site's Settings for one site (a site key overrides the organization's).

- Keys are encrypted, never shown again, and only handed to the job that needs them.
- A Test button checks the key with one small call.
- Each key can have its own monthly cap. Spend on your own key doesn't count against the organization's platform budget.
Budget
The organization's monthly AI budget covers platform AI: audits, chat, drafts, keyword research and AI visibility checks. It resets on the 1st. When it is used up, audits continue with the technical checks only. See [Cost and limits](/docs/ai-analyst#cost).
