Search Console and Bing

Connect Google Search Console or import an export, and add Bing Webmaster Tools.

Google Search Console

Connect from the Search Console card on the site's Overview or Settings tab with your Google account (read-only access). Tokens are encrypted and never leave the server.

  • The first sync backfills about 16 months of daily data; after that it syncs about once a day.
  • Google reports with roughly a 3-day delay, so windows end 3 days ago.
  • Each sync also inspects the indexing state of your top 50 pages and reads your submitted sitemaps.

Search Console data powers rankings and opportunities, traffic checks (gsc.*), the analyst's intent step, goals, and ranking of recommendations by real clicks.

Import instead of connecting

No API access? Export from Search Console's Performance report (the ZIP, or its CSVs) and upload it from the site's Search Console card. Any CSV with both a query and a page column works too, for example from Looker Studio or BigQuery.

Uploads are limited to 10 MB (50 MB unzipped) and 100,000 rows per file. Only query-and-page rows feed the cannibalization and intent checks.

Bing Webmaster Tools

Paste a Bing Webmaster Tools API key in the site's Settings tab, with the site URL exactly as verified in Bing. Bing adds search query stats, inbound links for [backlinks](/features/backlinks), and real search volume in keyword research.
